howto setup your harmony remote for the Mediatank PopCorn Hour

• select add a device
• device type = MediaCenter PC
• don’t start scrolling in the Manufacturer list, MediaTank or Popcorn Hour isn’t in it
• select “not listed”
• The wizard will ask you the Manufacturer name, enter PopCorn Hour
• in model type your model (like A-100 or A-110)
• then select popcorn hour A100
• success

edit, just found that you could also use Syabas as the manufacturer Name.

how to get your universal IR remote working on the PS3 “the easy way”

1. buy a cheap IR remote (15-20€) with usb receiver for the ps3
   (for example nyko or bigben)
2. program your universal remote
3. throw away the el cheapo remote, keep the receiver

1. bought a “bigben ps3 remote”
   
2. programmed my harmony 525
   • added a new device, “game console with DVD”
   • configured activity “watch a dvd” to use this new device.

problems

1. didn’t work when you select “playstation 3″ as the “game console with dvd”
   solution : You have to select bigben with product code BB 251548 (or nyko bluwave if you bought a nyko).
2. every IR command to the ps3 was sent twice to the ps3. Handy.
   solution : in the harmony remote software
   • go to troubleshoot device “game console with dvd”
   • go to … commands sent multiple times …
   • change value from 3 to 1
